Founded in 1917 in Amarillo, Texas, Amarillo Gear Company has been designing and manufacturing spiral bevel right-angle gear drives since 1934. This business unit includes manufacturing and assembly sites in Amarillo, the New Orleans area, Exeter, CA, Jiangsu, China, and a Monterey JV.
The Role
Immediate first-month priorities for the hire are learning the budget process with Lori, managing month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, supporting forecasting and departmental budgets, handling ISO-related customer complaint accounting, and advancing backlog cost accounting with engineering and operations to reduce single points of failure.

The Hiring Manager
This role reports to the Director of Finance. They are looking for a strong leader with good communication skills. Heavy in cost accounting experience, preferably standard cost experience. SOX compliance and GAAP knowledge as well. Master's degree, CMA preferred.
Your Team
The role will supervise four direct reports and six total reports (three senior accountants, one junior accountant, two accounting clerks handling AP/AR/payroll).

Made2Manage by Aptean; OneStream, SQL, and Power BI skills are valuable.
Travel & Remote
Travel includes initial onboarding trips to New Orleans and California, about two trips per quarter thereafter, corporate trainings, and an annual JV board trip.
