The Overview
We partnered with Nucor Steel in their search for an Accounting Manager in Lexington, NC. Nucor is a Fortune 150 company and North America's most diversified and sustainable steel manufacturer. This position will support their new plant in Lexington, NC — a site that started production this summer with 150 employees. When fully operational, this plant will produce over 300,000 lbs of rebar. The Controller has been part of this greenfield project for three years and is excited to build his team. The last Accounting Manager was promoted to another part of the business.
The Role
The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller and serves as their backup. Responsibilities include all accounting functions: general ledger, tax, capital expenditures, asset management, financial and compliance reporting, account reconciliations, costing files, forecasting, monthly balancing, inventory management, and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager also manages a team of three accountants, a buyer, and an intern.
